I must say the room was excellent, bed very comfortable, & suite was exceptionally clean. Food in restaurant was great. Over looking Lake Michigan was a plus. I would definitely stay at the Knickerbocker again.
very clean and super convenient. the price was ridiculously affordable considering the location and amenities. we were there in the cold season and the room was plenty warm. customer service was great. the unique doors and cool art deco details are really fun to explore. just a beautiful building all around. my family ate dinner at the knick and loved it too. 24 hour desk person was nice so no worries. using keys to get into the room was charming. the rooms were very specious. the bed was a wee soft but pretty good and lots of pillows. I'd go back for sure and love to stay a week to explore the cite since the location is kind of perfect. there's parking on street but a lot for guests too. it's not that busy of a street and just outside of the downtown enough to be easier to park, and there's a coffee shop a few minutes walk away, plus the plaza hotel a few mintues the other way has great breakfast. it's kind of perfect!
We became acquainted with Knickerbocker on the Lake as management generously donated single night stays to our local PBS station for their Travel Auction (WCNY Syracuse, NY) to raise funding for the station. Since my family resides not too far out of Milwaukee we decided to give Knickerbocker a try. From making the reservations (Thank you Carlotta, and Jay too!) through checkout, the staff were wonderful to work with and so pleasant and helpful during our stay. We loved the older features and decor. The suite was clean and well appointed, and very comfortable. We also enjoyed “The Knick” restaurant and our waiter (Zac) who made sure everything was just right! We stayed 2 nights, and would stay there again.
So glad we chose to stay at the Knickerbocker. It was within walking distance to may attractions. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to any visitor to Milwaukee.
This was our second stay at the Knickerbocker and it will not be our last. Located in the Yankee Hill neighborhood (slightly east of Downtown Milwaukee) and just steps from Lake Michigan it is a vintage hotel that has been modernized to create convenience, charm, and comfort.
The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are nicely appointed with very comfortable beds, smart TV's and kitchenettes; and even a full kitchen in the larger rooms. The kitchens are stocked with the basics if you want to cook for yourself. There is also a restaurant (The Knick) on site that can serve you from breakfast to after dinner cocktails. The food is very good and reasonably priced.
For a small fee you can park in a secure lot attached to the hotel. You can walk to many places museums, galleries and of course the lake.
It is perfect for overnight and would be wonderful for and extended stay in Milwaukee. Oh, and the price is reasonable. We stayed in a Standard Room (attached pictures) which was perfect for a 2 night stay. We have stayed in a Deluxe Suite that would be great for an extended stay.
